Support Your Favorite Soulard Establishment Oktoberfest Weekend
Fall just doesn’t feel quite like fall without spending a crisp October night “prosting” a beer and enjoying a pretzel to the sounds of an oom-pah-pah beat. It’s Oktoberfest season! Due to the safety restrictions associated with COVID-19, Soulard Business Association (SBA) will not be transforming Soulard Market Park into a beer garden and music hall again this year. However, that doesn’t mean the Oktoberfest spirit of Soulard is cancelled. SBA is encouraging everyone to visit their favorite Soulard establishment the weekend of October 9, 10, & 11.
In lieu of a physical event, SBA is organizing fun content and socially distanced promotions for Oktoberfest and the fall season. Keep an eye on (and “like”) SBA’s Facebook page for details and announcements: www.facebook.com/SoulardBusinessAssociation.
Residents and fans of Soulard can also support the SBA and its business members by donating toward the Soulard Stronger Together initiative. T-shirts are currently on sale for $20 and available for pick up on Tuesdays 10-2pm at the SBA office (822 Lafayette) or online through STL Style.
The Vision for Soulard Oktoberfest
St. Louis’ heritage is very diverse among European immigration, but no group has positively impacted the community quite like the great German brewing families that settled here in the mid-19th century. It is appropriate that St. Louis and Soulard celebrate this great heritage through Soulard Oktoberfest. Home to the Anheuser-Busch Brewery, Soulard is the perfect location for this festival. Through the celebration of Oktoberfest in Soulard, we are ensuring the continued appreciation of the St. Louis German brewing culture.
The Location
The 2020 Soulard Oktoberfest will take place outdoors at bars and restaurants throughout Soulard. The oldest surviving residential neighborhood in the city of St. Louis, Soulard is the perfect place to showcase the great diversity of cultural heritage in our city. Located just south of downtown St. Louis, the Soulard neighborhood offers something for everyone this Oktoberfest!
Demographics
Our traditional Oktoberfest at Soulard Market is a family-friendly event that attracted more than 10,000 attendees in its inaugural year of 2016.
